Title “The Future of Sport Management Shaped by Human-Centered AI” (tentative)
Speaker: Dr. Hitoshi Matsubara Dean and Professor, Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto Tachibana University. Director, Center for Education and Research in Informatics, Kyoto Tachibana University.
Professor Matsubara completed the doctoral program in Information Engineering at the Graduate School of the University of Tokyo in 1986. He subsequently served at the Electrotechnical Laboratory of the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology (now the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), held a professorship at Future University Hakodate, and later served as Professor at the University of Tokyo. He has held his current position since 2024. He is a former President of the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence and a former Vice President of the Information Processing Society of Japan. He has authored numerous books, including “Does AI Possess a Mind?” (Shueisha International).

For the 18th Annual Conference, we are introducing a new format called the “Proposal-based Symposium”, which allows JASM members to take the initiative in setting themes and leading discussions. Application Schedule - Start of Application: November 3, 2025 (Mon) - Application Deadline: November 24, 2025 (Mon) – strictly by 17:00 JST - Notification of Acceptance: Early December 2025
Application Method - Please submit your symposium proposal via the online Proposal-based Symposium Application Form, attaching your proposal document (PDF format). - There is no designated format for the proposal, but it should adequately address the following items to ensure proper evaluation. - Proposal must be in PDF format, up to two A4 pages. - Any document creation tool may be used.
Contents of the Proposal 1. Field (e.g., research, education, business, interdisciplinary topics) 2. Proposer Information (name, affiliation, contact) 3. Symposium Title 4. Overview – purpose, objectives, content, and expected outcomes 5. Expected Speakers – number, profiles, and negotiation status (approval not required at submission) 6. Preferred Format – e.g., panel discussion, workshop, dialogue session 7. Budget Outline 8. Other Requests – e.g., required equipment, venue setup

Presentation Categories Oral presentations in English are accepted. Presenters may choose either Japanese or English as the presentation language. (Abstracts must be submitted in the same language as the presentation.) 1. Academic Research: Studies that demonstrate high academic value through objectivity, logical reasoning, and universality. 2. Applied or Practical Research: Studies or reports summarizing practical cases or applied experiences.
Presentation Formats 1. Oral Presentation: - Language: Japanese or English - Format: 20 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A + 5 minutes transition 2. Poster Presentation: - Please prepare your poster in A0 size. - Posters may be displayed in the poster session venue from the afternoon of Friday, February 27. - The presentation time is 17:40–18:20. - At the beginning of the session, each presenter will have 1 minute to briefly introduce their research. - Afterward, please stand by your poster for free discussion with participants.

Presentation Formats (Poster Presentations, Japanese Only) - Practice Case Reports will be presented in poster format. - Please prepare your poster in A0 size. - Posters may be displayed in the poster session venue from the afternoon of Friday, February 27. - The presentation time is 17:40–18:20. - At the beginning of the session, each presenter will have 1 minute to give a brief oral summary of their report. - After the introductions, please remain by your poster for free discussion with participants.
Research Areas Reports related to sport management, sport business, and sport marketing, including but not limited to: sport event management, regional and industry collaboration, educational activities, human resource development, management practice, and new business initiatives.
Eligibility - The presenting author must be a JASM member (regular or student) who has paid the 2025 membership fee at the time of application. - These reports will not undergo academic peer review, but will be screened to ensure relevance to the field of sport management. - Co-authors do not need to be members. - Each person may submit only one report as the first author.

Date: Saturday, February 28, 2026 (during lunch break) Venue: Osaka University of Commerce (main conference venue) Sponsored by: The Life Sports Foundation A seminar focusing on children’s sports will be held during the lunch break. Participants who register in advance will receive a complimentary lunch box provided by the Life Sports Foundation (limited quantity). - Advance registration is required as the number of lunches is limited. - Details of the seminar content will be announced once finalized.

Seminar Overview This practical seminar will bring together companies, athletes, and students to explore how the skills developed through sports can be effectively applied in society and organizations. Based on discussions from the first half (symposium), the latter half will feature group sessions where students collaborate with speakers and corporate advisors to develop and present proposals.

Lunch boxes are available for pre-order. Although restaurants and convenience stores are within a 5-minute walk from the venue, advance reservation is recommended.
Lunch Box Fee: 1,200 yen per meal (including a beverage) - Different lunch menus will be offered for Feb. 27 (Fri) and Feb. 28 (Sat). - Please order through the Lunch Box section of the Conference Registration Form. - Payment should be made together with the registration and reception fees by the early-bird (Feb. 2) or advance (Feb. 16) payment deadline.
Participants registered for the Luncheon Seminar (Feb. 28) will receive a complimentary lunch (limited to the first 100 registrants). Those attending the seminar without prior registration will not receive lunch.

Eligibility: Children of conference participants Hours: - February 27 (Fri): 9:00–19:00 - February 28 (Sat): 8:30–16:00 Capacity: Approx. 5 children per day (registration may close early once capacity is reached) Age Range: 3 months to 9 years (up to Grade 3) Fee: Free of charge
The service will be provided by a professional babysitting company. In the unlikely event of an accident, compensation will be covered within the scope of the company’s insurance policy
